CHAPTER 16

OLIVIA

My chest heaved out with a deep breath after my last lap on the treadmill, and I slowed my pace so I could get off it. “You good?” I asked when I turned to Pixie. She was still jogging on the treadmill, and she nodded briefly before keeping her eyes on the machine again.

I wiped a towel over my forehead and released another deep breath. The last time I was at the gym, Colt and Knox had come too. Today, they had all gone for practice, and I decided to spend time with Pixie before our trip to Denver for their game against the Knights. It wasn’t my first time traveling with them for a game, but I was nervous.

I guess it’s because things are different.

Even around the house, I could feel the tension from each of them each time we were together in a room, and it was getting increasingly difficult to stop myself from wanting their touch.

My skin heated up as I thought about the last time I was with Colt. He knows how to make me feel desired, like I was the sexiest woman in the world.

I had to admit, I loved the attention from the three of them.

“Where did your mind drift off to?” Pixie asked, and I realized she had finished her workout.

“Just the usual,” I answered as we exited the gym together. My stomach grumbled a little bit when we got outside the building, and I pointed at the café a few blocks from where I parked. “How about breakfast? I’m famished.”

“Sounds good,” Pixie agreed. “How’s it going with the triplets?” she asked as we strolled toward the café. “Still as steamy as ever?”

Her question made me flush and then blush. I cleared my throat and nodded once. “I think I might be losing my mind, Pixie. What do you think? Is it normal for me to want all three of them? Maybe there’s something wrong with me.”

I frowned as we entered the café.

“There’s nothing wrong with you,” Pixie said to me before putting a hand on my shoulder. “You, my dear, are simply learning to embrace your sexuality. It’s not like you’re doing anything wrong, though. They seem to be okay with what’s going on, right?”

Are they? I couldn’t tell. I sensed that Knox was a bit over-protective recently. He lingered around the kitchen whenever I worked, and he always volunteered to take me places so we could spend time together.

Colt could easily make me forget about any other plans I had for the day when he was around, and Aiden was super sweet as always. “I don’t know what they talk about when I’m not there, but I don’t think there’s an issue,” I told Pixie.

We ordered chicken salad, and I opted for coconut water instead of a soda.

Pixie’s take on my relationship with my friends didn’t help with the shaky feelings inside me. I kept hoping nothing would go wrong or hurt our friendship. That mattered to me more than anything else.
